Microsoft has been focussing on the budget line up of the
Lumia series and it has been quite some time since the Redmond giant released a
flagship device. The last flagship Lumia 930 was launched in July last year and
it's time the company reveals the next iteration of Lumia 930.
According to a report from Gsmarena, the purported Lumia 940
and Lumia 940 XL are in the works. The report suggests that the phones will
have a design similar to Lumia 830. The devices will use the slim profile of
the Lumia 830 and a similar metal frame. The device won't have an all-metal
build.
The Lumia 940 might sport a 5.2-inch screen with a Quad HD
resolution whereas the XL version will come with a 5.7-inch screen. The phone
is rumoured to feature a 20 Megapixel Pure View sensor and not a 25 Megapixel
module that was reported earlier. The primary camera will be paired with a
5Megapixel front facing snapper.
According to the report, the Lumia 940 will be powered by a
hexa-core processor like the Snapdragon 808 on LG G4. The Lumia 940 XL, on the
other hand will use the more powerful Snapdragon 810. The report also suggests
the 940 will sport a USB Type C connector. A 3000 mAh battery will power the
Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL might use a 3,300 mAh unit.
