Looking for a cheap new smartphone? ZTE has your back. The
Chinese phone-maker just unveiled the Overture 2, which runs Android 5.0
Lollipop and costs just $49.99 from Cricket Wireless. Even better, the
AT&T-owned provider is offering a $50 rebate once you’ve paid for two
months of service
The Overture 2 packs a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of
854 x 480 pixels, a 2100mAh battery, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a
5-megapixel rear camera, a front-facing VGA shooter, 4G LTE support, 1GB of RAM
and 8GB of storage with microSD support for up to 32GB of extra space. It runs
what looks like a pretty clean version of Android Lollipop and comes in blue
with a plastic textured back.
Of course, ZTE’s new phone can’t compete with the latest
flagship devices, but that’s not really the point. For $50 the Overture 2
promises quick access to Android Lollipop software, and that’s exactly what you
get.
