‘Never Settle’ says OnePlus as it readies OnePlus One for the Indian market

There is at least one area where you will love that Chinese are in India- that’s the smartphone segment. After Gionee, Xiaomi, Oppo and lot of others (via Indian companies), it is time another Chinese company to India, catalyzing the competition in smartphones segment on the Indian lands.

The latest OnePlus launch, OnePlus One with Snapdragon 801 processor is likely to be launched “very soon” in India. The company has started in India with a Facebook name OnePlus India and has poisted the picture of OnePlus One as the header image.

This One from OnePlus sports a  Snapdragon 801 processor like the LG G3, HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung Galaxy S5, Oppo Find 7a, Xiaomi Mi4 and ZTE Nubia Z7 Max.

As of now we have three handsets with a lower price in the segment, (1) Xiaomi Mi 4 that has been launched at Yuan 1999.(2) Nubia Z7 Max that has been launched at Yuan 2000. The price comes to INR 20K on a simple calculation. The OnePlus One is expected to be launched at INR  18000-22000 in India according to CrazyEngineers. In case OnePlus launches the handset at a suitable price in India, it will be able to grab a piece of the cake. This phone packs 3GB RAM in the phone and 16 GB internal storage in the phone. For those who require more internal memory there is a 64GB variant of the phone. But as a shortcoming of this handset there is no slot for external memory.

The phone has grabbed great reviews across tech portals. Engadget says “It doesn't make sense that the OnePlus One should be this inexpensive. It looks elegant, feels solid and performs smoothly, and it doesn't show any signs that it's a first-generation product from an unknown company. “

Cnet says “The OnePlus One has a sleek design that comfortably fits in your pocket, and the phone's powerful specs deliver a smooth, lag-free performance for a relatively low price.”

We said this month, that the “the premium Smartphone 'Bubble' about to burst” due to low-cost handsets that are ready to shake the market like never before. The gainers in this competition will be those who will launch cheap handsets with good (even not great) specs and make a profit.

We also predicted this trend in the Indian smartphone market in the beginning of this year. “Pocket friendly prices will make these affordable and better option.”
