Users of the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the model number SM-G920T started receiving the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on Monday. The new firmware, which comes with the build number G920TUVU2COF6, includes key bug fixes and new features to the device.
Users can look for the new firmware through Samsung Kies or as an over-the-air (OTA) update. However, those who could not get the firmware through these means, can update their handsets manually.
To install the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on the Galaxy S6, users are required to flash the firmware file using Odin. Here are some key aspects to know before performing the manual installation:
- All personal data on the handset must have proper backup
- The device should have at least 80 percent battery power
- USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy S6 must be installed on the computer

Tutorial
Step 1: Download Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S6 and extract the zip file. [File name: TMB-G920TUVU2COF6-20150615115627.zip]
Step 2: Download Odin and extract the zip file. [File name: Odin3_v3.10.6.zip]
Step 3: Run Odin3 v3.10.6.exe as an Administrator.
Step 4: Switch off the Galaxy S6 and boot it into Download Mode. To do this, press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together. After you get a warning screen, press Volume Up button.
Step 5: Now, connect the Galaxy S6 to the computer via the USB cable. In Odin, an “Added!!” message will appear in the Log box in bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will show a code with blue background.
Step 6: Add the firmware file into Odin. To do this, click on the AP/PDA button on Odin and select the extracted .tar.md5 firmware file.
Step 7: In Odin, ensure that the “Re-Partition” option is disabled while “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” checkboxes are selected.
Step 8: Now, click on the Start button in Odin to begin flashing the firmware on the Galaxy S6.
Step 9: After the installation is complete, the Galaxy S6 will reboot automatically. You will get a PASS message on Odin after successful installation of the firmware.
Step 10: Now, unplug the handset from the computer.
