The electronics manufacturing giant, Sony has announced the
successor of Xperia C3, Xperia C4 in India with a price tag of Rs. 29,490. Last
month, the firm has introduced the device worldwide.
Sony claims that the device is meant for selfie obsessed
people as it boasts a 5 megapixel of front facing 720p camera with LED flash.
The Xperia C4 will be available in markets starting from
June in single SIM and Dual SIM variants and in green, black and white color
variants.
“Following the success of Xperia C3, we are proud to
introduce Sony’s evolved PROselfie smartphone,” said Tony McNulty,
Vice-President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile
Communications.
“Xperia C4 caters to consumers that want a smartphone that
not only takes great photos, but also packs a punch. Benefiting from Sony’s
camera expertise, the 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens lets you
capture perfect selfies, while its quality display and performance features
provide an all-around advanced smartphone experience.”
The smartphone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop supported by a
1.7 GHz octa core Mediatek MT6752 Processor that is coupled with 2 GB of RAM.
The device boasts a 5.5 inch IPS display with 1920 X 1080 of resolution and 401
ppi of pixel density. The display is featured with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2
that delivers better, sharp and real-time viewing experience to the user.
Apart from the high-quality selfie shooter, the Xperia C4
sports a 13 megapixel of primary image snapper with LED flash, which is
featured with Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama and HDR
that helps in capturing decent images in low-light and 1080p videos.
The new Sony Exmor R sensor does boast of an extra-wide 25mm
lens, along with a front-facing soft flash and HDR mode, for better low light
photography.
The company claims the front camera of the ‘PROselfie
smartphone’ to be “best in its class.” However, the front LED flash could
create the ‘Red-Eye-Effect’ in the selfies during the night. Also, since
selfies are taken from a shorter distance, the flash entering directly to eyes
can cause a partial blind effect for few second just after the photo has been
clicked. However, it could only be judged better after we get our hands on the
device.
In addition, the smartphone is packed with a 2,600mAh of
battery, that is claimed to deliver up to eight hours of video play and 682
hours of standby time.
The Xperia C4 enables its users to store up to 16 GB of data
in its storage, however, they can expand it up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the connectivity front, the phone has 4G, NFC, Bluetooth
v4.1, Wi-Fi and USB v2.0 as options.
