Yahoo to host first mobile developer meet in India

Yahoo is all set to bring its first Mobile Developer Meetup in India. The event will be held in New Delhi on June 24 and Bangalore on June 26.
With the growing mobile penetration in India and the flourishing developer community here, it seems like the right move.
Speaking about the upcoming meetup, Jarah Euston, VP of Analytics and Marketing, Flurry that is owned by Yahoosaid, “India has a vibrant, rapidly growing app developer community. As a mobile-first company, we understand the need for app developers to have a strong mobile analytics and monetisation engine. The Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite can help developers build their app businesses, monetise and create better experiences for their users, to stand out in today’s crowded app market.”
So what to expect at the Yahoo Mobile Developer Meetup? Mobile app developers will get the chance to network with other participants from the mobile startup and developer community. They will get the first look at the new Yahoo Mobile Developer suite that has been designed to help developers measure, advertise, monetise and improve their mobile apps. It build using technology and data from Yahoo and some of its acquisitions like Flurry and BrightRoll.
The meetup will also feature a discussion with a panel of innovators and thought leaders, Yahoo writes in a press statement.
Since Marissa Mayer’s arrival as the head of the company in 2012, Yahoo has revamped its visual identity and acquired several new businesses. It has been struggling to make its presence felt in the mobile world. The company has been working on several mobile-based services. Yahoo Messenger that has been untouched for several years is also expected to be revived with the company rumoured to be working on a new mobile messaging app.
